LIVOX Tele-15 LiDAR



Specially designed for measuring longer distances, the Livox Tele-15 offers robustness, accuracy and compact size. The sensor detects objects from long distances and can therefore provide data at an early stage, even at high speeds, to trigger appropriate responses.



Long-distance
The Tele-15 uses a large-diameter double aspherical lens and provides a detection range of up to 500 m to avoid common blur problems at long focusing distances. It can achieve a detection range of up to 320 m even when the reflectivity of the target object is only 10%. Tele-15 supports custom firmware to increase the permitted range to 1000 m.



Extremely high precision and density of point clouds
The Tele-15 has an angular accuracy of 0.03° and a beam divergence angle of 0.12° (vertical) x 0.02° (horizontal). The extremely high precision of the point cloud enables the Tele-15 to easily recognise the position and outline of target objects, even if they are far away in the field of view. The Tele-15 can detect objects up to 500 m away with a reflectivity of 80%. For black cars with lower reflectivity, the Tele-15 can capture 14 points in just 100 ms at a distance of 500 m, meeting the point cloud data requirements of autonomous driving algorithms.



Scan patterns that do not repeat themselves
By emitting multi-line lasers and non-repetitive scan patterns, the Tele-15 can distribute up to 240,000 points in its 15° field of view. The Tele-15 can capture 99.8% of the field of view in just 100 ms. This makes it more powerful than conventional mechanical LiDAR sensors with 128 lines. This means autonomous vehicles can see further and more detailed into the distance.



Robust and reliable
The Tele-15 features an innovative optoelectronic system design with rotation-free photoelectric components, leading to higher reliability and longer lifetime. The design features strong thermal deformation resistance and complies with automotive standards VW80000 and ISO16750. The average downtime is 40,000 hours. For vehicles, this corresponds to an average service life of 10 years, according to applicable automotive standards. Generally, autonomous driving meets autonomy level 3/4 requirements.



Integrated IMU and Open SDK
The Tele-15 has a built-in BMI088-IMU that transmits data at a frequency of 200 Hz, including timestamp information and status indicator code. This makes it easier to create algorithms for motion compensation and SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping).



SDK
The Livox SDK provides support for several programming languages, including C, C ++ and Python on different platforms such as Linux, Windows and ROS - making it easier to integrate and test the Livox LiDAR sensors in any environment. Livox also provides commonly used algorithms such as SLAM. External parameter calibration helps to get the most out of the sensor.

TÜV Rheinland safety certification
The Tele-15 can detect objects up to a distance of 500 metres via a coaxial optical system. The laser system is certified by TÜV Rheinland and complies with class 1 of the laser standard IEC 60825-1: 2014. This class is the lowest and safest of any laser and is therefore harmless to the human eye.
